Firth Rixson Divests Castings Business

Sheffield, UK—December 11, 2006—Firth Rixson Limited sold the entire share capital of Firth Rixson Castings Limited (“Castings”) to Bradken Operations Pty Limited, based in Australia.  Castings is an operation specializing in wear resistant “sand” castings with sites in the UK at Scunthorpe and Darlaston.

David Mortimer, CEO of Firth Rixson commented: “I am delighted to secure a more appropriate owner for the Castings business which has limited strategic fit for Firth Rixson.  This transaction enables Firth Rixson to focus our resources more closely on core activities such as forgings, extrusions, and seamless rolled rings.”
